january 8th, 2015 spoiler: casting call for mortal kombat x digital series reveals new characters? 9:41 am cst - warner bros.' new digital content division, blue ribbon content , recently announced that it was producing a new mortal kombat x related digital series , slated to debut around the release of mortal kombat x in april 2015. trmk has obtained an exclusive look at the casting notice for this new production and it details some new and potentially unannounced characters featured in the next mortal kombat fighting game. warning potential spoilers contained below some of the characters listed we've heard their names before associated with mkx, like d'vorah . another character, takeda showed up in the comic released this week as the son of kenshi and is not the takeda mentioned in prior folklore . he is rumored by the kommunity to become a ninja known as forrest fox, but this is not mentioned in the bio. on the new character front we have the familiar name bo rai cho who is being mentioned for the first time in association with mkx. there are also three completely new names: salazar , kung jin , ron tan' cho each with some interesting bios. no relation is mentioned between ron tan' cho and bo rai cho , surprisingly enough given the similar names. there is currently no way to draw conclusions between any of these characters and their playability in the mkx game, but it'd be a safe bet they'll show up along the way in the likely character deep story mode as at least a cameo role. also of note, the listed director garrett warren was the stunt coordinator and second unit director on the mk legacy series previously. this appears to imply that he may now be the full director of this new series and that kevin tancharoen is not returning to the directors chair. it also appears that the new series will begin filming this month. 28 comments | permalink | share: tweet october 14th, 2014 mk legacy 2 blu-ray & dvd review & contest 4:03 pm cst - today marks the release date of mortal kombat legacy 2 on home video. you can buy it both on dvd and blu-ray today at your local retailer. you can order the it from amazon for just $13.87 for the blu-ray and only $10.68 for the dvd. we were lucky enough to get a copy early to review, which you can find here: trmk's mk legacy 2 blu-ray review . but we also were awarded a few copies to give away to two lucky readers. you can enter the contest via the rafflecopter widget below! a rafflecopter giveaway tweet june 24th, 2014 galloping ghost hosts star studded shang tsung's fight night iv this saturday 12:27 pm cst - this saturday the legendary galloping ghost arcade is hosting another mortal kombat tournament special event that should not be missed if you are in the midwest. for those of you unaquinted, galloping ghost arcade is located in the suburbs of chicago in brookfield, il and is home to more arcade machines than any other arcade in the usa. the arcade is also run by huge mortal kombat fans and often have the cast of the original games show up for special events. they even have custom made arcade cabinets for both mortal kombat (2011) and injustice: gods among us . i have no doubt that next year they'll have a mortal kombat x cabinet. this mk event like the previous event back in january , will have many actors from mortal kombat , mortal kombat 2 and mortal kombat 3 . in attendance. but this event has the largest lineup yet of mortal kombat actors yet who will be making appearances, so if you are looking to just meet them or get autographs, this is the day to go! but hopefully we can get a report or two from the fans in attendance again . 6 comments | permalink | share: tweet june 16th, 2014 the netherreport #3 - our ed boon interview, kiefer not in mkx, @midnight, e3 recap 2:27 pm cst - trmk's ed boon interview about mkx we were lucky enough to get a chance to sit down with a very busy ed boon at e3 last week to discuss mortal kombat x . in the interview ed discusses lots of different topics with us. including teasing a "character from mk4" as well as a "new ality" which will be revaled later. trmk: fans expect this game to follow the storyline of mk4 and beyond, but it looks like you are taking the story in another direction. will fans see some familiar faces from the series they haven’t seen yet in mk9? ed boon: you will definitely see a mortal kombat 4 character, i believe that's the first time i've said that. you will also see some of the later game's fighters. you'll also see cameo's in the story mode. some really fun ones. be sure to read the whole interview for even more information. also stay tuned for more mortal kombat x information from e3 from us in the coming days as we build out our mortal kombat x gamespace . kiefer sutherland is not in mortal kombat x after hinting at this previously on twitter ed boon publically confirms that kiefer sutherland is not in mortal kombat x on the giant bomb live post e3 show last thursday evening . around the 9 minute mark there is a conversation about kiefer's lack of dialog in metal gear solid and then it turns to ed who is asked "is kiefer sutherland in mortal kombat?" to which he replies: “no he’s not. he actually is not.” watch the segment below to hear for yourself, you want to fast forward to the 9 minute mark. this matches up with what i've heard from many people since the rumor first broke . i still believe he was talking about call of duty that he did years ago and he simply said the wrong thing. surprising that ign ran this story without any fact checking, as they've been stellar
